Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced a 7.3% increase in the number of sold homes for the year 2018 compared to 2017 and a 3.2% increase in the median sales price from $219,000 to $225,900. The number of homes that went under contract in 2018 increased 5.4% from 2016.

Kent County, DE

For the year 2018, Kent County experienced a 1.5% decrease in the number of sold homes compared to 2017 and a 4.4% increase in the median sales price from $199,270 to $208,000. The number of homes that went under contract in 2017 decreased 2.5% from 2017.

Sussex County, DE

For the year 2018, Sussex County experienced a 1.3% decrease in the number of sold homes compared to 2017 and a 6.3% increase in the median sales price from $265,000 to $281,632. The number of homes that went under contract in 2018 decreased 2.3% from 2017.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced an 8.0% increase in the number of sold homes in 2018 compared to 2017 and a 2.8% increase in the median price of sold homes, from $359,900 to $370,000. The number of homes that went under contract in 2018 increased 4.0% from 2017.

Cecil County, MD

For the year 2018, Cecil County experienced a 3.7% decrease in the number of sold homes compared to 2017 and an increase in the median sales price of 2.3%; from $219,900 to $224,900. The number of homes that went under contract in 2018 decreased 8.0% from 2016.
